Every option on the 997 Chrono display can be set two ways: on the device itself, or from the 997 Chrono companion app over Bluetooth. On the clock screen, tap the left-hand side to open settings; tap the left or right edge of any screen to move between screens, or use the steering-column stalk. This page is the complete reference for every setting.
💡 On-device or in the app. The companion app exposes the same settings as the on-device menu, plus custom face and splash uploads and over-the-air firmware updates — see our guide to the phone app for how to connect. A few settings marked reboot required take effect after the display restarts.

Sets the tach scale (GT3 reads to 9,000 rpm) and vehicle-specific behaviour. Default 997.1. Boxster/Cayman (987) owners select the matching generation — 997.1/987.1 is 2005–2008, 997.2/987.2 is 2009–2012 — which sets how water temperature is calculated.
