Good news — the big one is done. The Sports Chrono lap timer and stopwatch functionality has been replicated. It took some doing, but we managed to suss it: the display now reports to the car exactly as the factory Sports Chrono unit does, so you can use the lap timer from the dashboard as standard.

- Added Sports Chrono lap timer functionality. When you stop the clock, you’ll get a display of the laps recorded.
- Added a setting to use the steering-column stalk to change screens (forwards, back, up and down). This changes the dash display as well, but means you can flick through screens without reaching for the pod.
- Fixed a bug where the TPMS sensors would report 0 pressure.
In the pipeline
Next up is a phone app to change settings and update the firmware. It’ll be a bigger overhaul of the user interface, and will mean you need an SD card for the images to work, as the firmware needs to be lighter to transfer over Bluetooth. The payoff: no more taking the unit out to update it or change settings, and you’ll be able to change the splash screen or clock faces without touching the SD card at all.
