Those with a keen eye may notice the bump in major version number. With version 2 of the firmware we bring support for an iOS and Android app to connect to and configure the display. It makes the options far easier to manage, and images can be uploaded and firmware updated straight from your phone.

We’ve also developed a small add-on. It replaces the fillet and adds a small visor over the display, which helps with direct light and reflections — both in the day, and the screen reflecting into the windscreen at night. It’s printed in ASA with carbon fibre so it’s as matte as possible and able to survive the heat of a dash top. Check it out here: 997 Chrono Sun Visor.

- App control — download the “997 Chrono” app from your chosen app store and connect over Bluetooth.

What’s next
We have the device working with an OBDLink CX OBD-II dongle, which brings in additional diagnostic parameters such as lambda values and intake temperatures. It’s in final testing now and releases in Q3 2026. This sticks with our belief in keeping the device as simple as possible, and being able to return the car to factory without any effort.
We also have some look-and-feel updates on the way, which will help with how the available data is presented.
